NBA 2K17 Update: The Locker Codes Revealed

With the upcoming of NBA 2K17, there are lots of information came out. Some have been saying that there are NBA 2K17 Locker Codes revealed. Are they true? Or simply a scam?

Basketball fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the favored NBA 2K series for the Playstation 4. Rumors say that this game is possibly the most innovative of the franchise.

A key feature of the previous game NBA 2K16, was the use of locker codes. Locker codes were released by EA and offer player a chance to win bonus prizes, additional trading points, and repair in game bugs. The system was popular and we are likely to see it in 2K16.

NBA 2K17 Locker Codes: A bigger reveal?
There have not been any confirmed reports of released NBA 2K17 Locker Codes. It would not be a wise decision on the part of the company to release them this early. Unfair advantage to players or simply ruined novelty? We can only guess. But any leak regarding NBA 2K17 Locker Codes may lead to a wider leak of the game itself. It’s no surprise that 2K studios would be tight lipped on the subject for now.

However, there have been some hints from individual members of 2K regarding what NBA 2K17 Locker Codes will be for and how they can be maximized. Again, it’s mere speculation but one tweet from 2K spokesperson has raised suspicion. His tweet states:

Free Agent Cards combined with Locker Codes is going to be a lot of fun in terms of what we can do to have fun with #NBA2K17

What does it mean? We do not know so far. But NBA 2K17 Locker Codes may just be much more interesting than before.

More than the possibilities behind NBA 2K17 Locker Codes, 2K17 is designed to provide the most balanced gameplay of all 2K NBA games. The upcoming game is set to feature realistically skilled players with different styles of play. In turn, different styles of play correspond to different statistics per player.

Even in the game, it is no longer sufficient to randomly pick and rely on player skill. Different stats mean a more careful approach in selecting players for a team in 2K17. In other words, we should expect a 2K game which requires much more thought in order to enjoy. This is a good thing. No more player shuffling or button mashing luck.

Whether the rumor is real or false, it won’t make much change of the game.

NBA 2K17 Official Screenshots: Team USA and 1992 Dream Team

Yesterday 2K Sports took pride to unveil the first official screenshot of Team USA along with that for 1992 Dream Team. It also showcased the new look at the card designs for this year’s iteration of the series.

Prior to the official news regarding the addition of Team USA, the game’s cover for Standard Edition already hinted that Olympics feature will debut in the game. Paul George appeared in the cover art wearing his Team USA uniform.

Take a look at the entire Team USA roster for the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games and the original Dream Team from 1992—with Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen.

The Dream Team is being offered as a pre-order bonus.

Barkley and Pippen have been notoriously difficult to gain a license to use on varying levels, but gamers should be pleased to see them both included in this year’s game.

We’re still waiting to hear if Barkley has been included in the pre-game, halftime and post-game shows with Shaquille O’Neal, Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith.

I’m personally hoping he’ll also be a part of a classic Phoenix Suns or Philadelphia 76ers team. Fingers crossed on all fronts.

As it the two surprising reveals are not enough, 2K Sports has also offered an up close look at the new card designs for MyTeam for the pre-orders.

I like the transparency look. It separates NBA 2K’s visual concept (no pun intended) from other similar modes. NBA 2K17 releases on September 20 (September 16 for those who pre-order).

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
